San Juan Agro Eco Tourism Farm
This volunteering program develops in a private reserve and Eco Tourism project called San Juan located at the county of San Carlos, Province of Alajuela., north side of Costa Rica. The project is administrated for a cooperative of laborious women.
The whole property, 267 hectares, it is conforming for big extensions of primary, secondary and virgin forest. Also it has some important cultivable areas. Into its limits, is possible to find a huge diversity of flora and fauna that include 70 kinds of reptiles, 200 kinds of birds, many kinds of mammalians, several kind of Woody and Fruits Trees and many kind of medicinal plants.
The project is perfect both for developing of scientific researches and to spend a relaxing vacation.
The Reserve offers the next facilities: a comfortable housing with the basic services, and a dining area with a full equipped kitchen. Additionally, it offers home stay with local families.
Other of the amenities offers the Reserve are: a big artificial lake, where is possible to do jet ski, kayak, boat rides and fresh water fishing. A butterfly farm, a " Tilapias growing pond " a " medicinal plants greenhouse" , and three long paths that crossing more part of the property
Pineapple, bananas, citrics and yucca are some of the crops use to cultivate in the property, and the volunteers have the chance to participate of the cultivating and harvesting labors.

The Volunteering labors to do at project include:
· Building of a new bridge on the lake
· Building of paths for disabilities people
· Building of a library at central area of the reserve
· Moving of the " Butterfly Farm " and the " Medicinal Plants Greenhouse " to a new area of property.
What's included: Accommodation on Single or Double Occupancy with share bathroom at Housing or with any of the local Families. 4 daily meals including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Coffee Breaks. Volunteering Work under supervision of staff of Reserve. Airport Pick Up In/Out on scheduled arrival/ departures dates only, Certificate of Participation, C.R. Souvenir and taxes.
Not Included: International air fare, CR departure taxes ( $26 per person ),Airport Charge ( $ 9 per person ), meals and drinks not specified in the itinerary, and gratuities or extra costs associated with changes in your itinerary for reasons beyond our control.
