" The Last Paradise of Birds " This Voluntary Program is part of the " cooperation agreement " exists between the agency and the program ASVO of the Ministry of Environment and Energy ( MINAE ), institution of the government of Costa Rica that administrate and protect all the system of National Parks and Natural Reserves of country. The program develops in the Palo Verde National Park located in the province of Guanacaste, north Pacific of Costa Rica. The Park it has an extension of 19,800 hectares and it takes its name from a kind of tree found in park called " Palo Verde ". The forest is predominantly " Dry Forest " and between its habitat can find several kind of mammalians, some reptiles including big crocodiles and probably the biggest diversity of kinds of birds of zone. The average temperature is 27° Celsius / 81° Farenheight most part of year and pluvial precipitation is around 1,790 mm yearly. Main attractions of park: great natural paths, three natural look - outs with great views and in summertime ( specially from January to April ), the biggest crowd of all kind of birds able to see and admire in Costa Rica. Many kinds of birds from all the latitudes of world. The park disposes of services as: · Electricity · Potable Water in limited quantity. · Two Camping areas where lodge both volunteers and staff of park with toilets and showers. Gallery of Pictures The " Voluntary Work " includes maintenance of paths and installations, maintenance of camping areas and attention to visitors. The volunteers lodge in the camping area in big tents, some for girls, some for boys. Volunteers and Staff of park eat all together in the Dining Room area.
