Monkey Park Zoo
Location: " Monkey Park Wild Life Rescue Center " is located on the Northeast of Costa Rica. At 200 Kilometers away from San Jose City and 18 kilometers away from Tamarindo Beach.
This 23 hectares Private Reserve, seeks to help and protect to all these Abandoned and many times brutally maltreated Wild Animals illegally captured for unconscious people.
Rescue Center is legally registered before the C.R. Ministry of Environment and Energy ( MINAE ) and is supervised and receive periodical advice for this Government institution.
Weather: The average temperature is between 26ª and 32º Celsius. Rainy Season is going from May to November. It rains moderately.
Flora: The forest is dry tropical on transition to wet.
Fauna: Is possible to find a large variety of birds as Magpie and several kind of Doves. Besides offers Slots, Chipmunks, White Tail Deer, Anteater and other kind of mammalians.
Main attractions: This shelter is one of the more active Wild Life Rescue Center in C.R. with a large population and variety of Wild Animals as Slots, Chipmunks, Coyotes, Deer, Monkeys, toucanoes, parrots and more.
The Shelter dispose of a team of Experts that watch for the best developing of Volunteering activities. The team includes a Resident Veterinary and Biologist.
The Shelter is very well located, near to many and very attractive beaches as Playa Grande, Brasilito, Conchal and Tamarindo, where is possible to have access to a large variety of services and spend a nice Holidays.
The shelter disposes of the next services:
· Electricity.
· Potable Water
· A little Guest House with 1 bedroom, single and twin beds, closet, private bathroom, a Gas Stove that can to be use for Volunteers and a laundry area.

Goals of Project
* Rescue of wounded and maltreated Wild Animals and try to reinstall it at their natural environment.
* Proper to volunteers of an enrichment experience and improve their knowledge and skills on the Wild Animals.
* Give an efficient support to the different maintenance and animal protection labors of Shelter.
Main Duties of Volunteers
* Cleaning of the Animal Cages.
* Feeding of Animals.
* Give a support to the regular duties of Veterinary, when he request it.
* Cleaning of trails and building of new ones.
* Grass cutting and collection.
* Several duties on Butterfly Farm.
* Maintenance labors at Buildings or any other particular sector of Shelter.
The work shift is of 6 hours daily, 6 days a week.
The candidate to participate at Program must to:
1 Respect the " Voluntary Work " rules.
2 Fill the " Offer of Voluntary Service " Form

2 Many wishes to work
3 A big attraction and loving for Wild Animals
Meals description
Mainly Rice, beans, plantains, vegetable salads, chicken, beef or pork, eggs, fruits and occasionally Corn flakes and milk for breakfast. At mealtimes, the volunteer must to walking or biking for around 1 km to the nearest town called Portegolpe, where a local family provides him/her of the different meals.
What to Bring
Blanket, sheets, Mosquitoes Repellent, Sun Lotion, Tooth Paste and Brush, Soap, Deodorant, Comfortable and Fresh Wear and comfortable and closed Shoes.
What's included: Accommodation on Single or Double Room with share bathroom, 3 daily mealtimes. Volunteering Work under supervision of staff of Zoo. Airport Pick Up In/Out on scheduled arrival/ departures dates only, Transfer to Bus Terminal, Bus Ticket to Project- One Way, Certificate of Participation, C.R. Souvenir and taxes.
Not Included: International air fare, CR departure taxes ( $26 per person ),Airport Charge ( $ 9 per person ), meals and drinks not specified in the itinerary, and gratuities or extra costs associated with changes in your itinerary for reasons beyond our control.
