" The Guardian of Blue Sky River " This Voluntary Program is part of the " cooperation agreement " exists between the agency and the program ASVO of the Ministry of Environment and Energy ( MINAE ), institution of the government of Costa Rica that administrate and protect all the system of National Parks and Natural Reserves of country. The program develops in other paradisiacal place called Tenorio Volcano National Park located in the province of the Guanacaste, northwest of the country. The Park it has an extension of 12,870 hectares and consequence of the influence of winds of Pacific and Caribbean, is possible to find within park several kind of forest: Low " Rainy Mountain " forest, very wet tropical forest, very wet pre-mountain forest and specially the " Rainy Pre-mountain " forest. A huge diversity of flora and fauna is available in park too, including exclusive kind of trees as Jicara Danto and many kinds of mammalians, birds and reptiles. Main attractions of park: the only " sky blue color " river and water fall on the world, one of last shelters of the " Bell Bird " in danger of extinction, a giant " slept volcano " on the garden, hot springs, long paths that take until 3 hours to make a ride and view to " Lake of Nicaragua ". The park disposes of services as: · Electricity · Potable Water · Comfortable wood-made installations for volunteers with toilets, showers, dining room and T.V. room. The " Voluntary Work " includes maintenance of paths and buildings, attention to visitors, patrol in company of guards of park, building of signs, teaching of " environmental education " and building of a new clinic, school and pipe system in the nearest town to park. The volunteers lodge in a big bedroom area where boys and girls sleep separately. Volunteers and personal of park eat all together in the Dining Room area of park.
