Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Costa Rica Arrival to SJO International Airport. Meet and Greet by our Tour Guide. Land Transfer to Arenal Paraiso Mountain Resort & Spa with afternoon and evening at leisure for explore the breath-taking property, take a bath on Hot Springs Complex, enjoy of the Canopy Tour and make use of Hotel facilities. Day 2 - LA FORTUNA ( B, L ) After breakfast, leaving to Caño Negro Wild Life Refuge located near to Nicaragua`s Border. Trip starts with a 1 1/2 hours land transfer on hills of San Carlos Valley, toward Los Chiles Town. Along the route, you will have the chance to see both the exuberant nature and picturesque towns surround this area. Being at Los Chiles, will aboard a comfortable boat that take you on the calm waters of Rio Frio to Caño Negro Wild Life Refuge. Both aboard and Caño Negro Refuge you have the chance to see a big diversity of fauna including Sluts, 3 type of monkeys, bats, crocodiles and more. The Guide will provide you full info both species and ecosystem. At margin of river, you will enjoy of a delicious Typical Lunch. Will be back at La Fortuna, around 16.00. Day 3 - LA FORTUNA ( B ) After breakfast, will be leaving to Arenal Hanging Bridges. This is the only Hanging Bridges project with panoramic view to an Active Volcano. The pace of this adventure is determined by your abilities and interests, and the abundance of wildlife you want to stop and observe (or learn about) - all in its natural and breathtaking habitat. Watch sluts and numerous species of monkeys travel through the tree canopy, hunt for nocturnal silky anteaters and several types of non-poisonous snakes resting in the tropical rain forest, and listen to the songs of the various birds as they glide above you. See how many different kinds of flora and fauna you can spot just in the span of a 2 ½ hour nature walk or hike. And whenever you are ready, stop and enjoy some local fresh fruits and refreshments as you pause to savor your adventure thus far. If you so desire, hike additionally through the trails and enjoy unspoiled, un-crowded, pristine beaches after your guided educational adventure ends. Day 6 - MANUEL ANTONIO ( B ) After Breakfast, leaving to the are of Savegre River, to live a adventurous, family-friendly, full-day white water river rafting adventure with lots of "perks".
Starting with a 4x4 ride into the "wilds" of Costa Rica's tropical jungle with breathtaking scenery of more remote areas of the Savegre, your journey begins at "Silencio". This is a little local village of thatched roof dwellings where you can enjoy a typical Tico breakfast after a "bumpy road" journey, yet before you paddle down the Savegre. Make sure you make your reservations for lunch, and don't forget to meander through the beautiful flora and fauna of the surrounding African Palm Plantations before you head off into the winding mountains to start the rafting leg of your journey.
The Savegre River provides Class II, III and IV rapids that are manageable in sturdy rafts that accommodate 2 to 6 people comfortably. Trip includes stops at locally known swimming spots and breathtaking water falls, if the rafters want a break from paddling, and there is always time to enjoy the abundant variety of wildlife along the river. On most trips, rafters will observe egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, kingfishers, cormorants, and many other species local to this protected area of the primary tropical rain forest. After a steady 13 mile trip down the river, we wind our way back to the little village of "Silencio" where a gladly awaited hot lunch (Tico style) and local refreshments are waiting. Once fed, happy and well-traveled, our now experienced Savegre River rafters spend a leisurely trip home driving back to Manuel Antonio. Day 7 - MANUEL ANTONIO ( B ) After Breakfast, you will be leaving to one of the best and and well kept secret Ecological destinies into Manuel Antonio, " La Botanica " Farm. Start by walking through fields of herbs, tropical spices, exotic teas, rare perfumes, and natural medicines, and don't hesitate to ask your botanist guide or the owner of the Farm for the past 20 years, Don Maylo Bekins, any questions that you would like. Visit the distillery of unforgettable oils so essential to perfumes all over the world. Then don't forget to observe our dying barn - everything is open for you to explore, learn, experience and share. Learn about how to distill essential oils available right here in Costa Rica that are used in aromatherapy. Marvel at the nature and structure of the Analog Forestry layout and its unique design at the farm to create a similar forest garden in structure and function analogous to the natural rainforest prevalent to the Manuel Antonio area.
Learn about the concepts of carbon sequestration and the process of how indispensable the Costa Rican rain forest is to the international community in terms of cleaning up the environment naturally - or rather, as the tropical rain forest ecosystem filters the carbon monoxide emissions out of our global environment for the benefit of all.
And don't miss the nursery where several local organizations are fighting to save the near-extinct Mono Titi (the squirrel monkey) by creating the Rio Naranjo Biological Corridor. DAY 8 ( B ) After Breakfast, you will experience the Manuel Antonio Canopy Adventure.
