Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1 - Welcome to Costa Rica - You will be met by a representative of our Company upon your arrival in San Jose International Airport as you step off the plane.  And you will be transported to Hotel Best Western Downtown. There you will have the rest of day at your leisure to enjoy of the Hotel’s pool and other amenities. In the evening you will explore the rich Gay Night Life in San Jose City. Transportation and bilingual tour guide is included.

 

If you wish, it is possible to upgrade to a more luxurious hotel in Downtown San Jose for an additional cost.

Day 2 - Visit to tortuguero canals ( B, L, D )  After Breakfast, you will travel with a bilingual naturalist guide on an air conditioned bus and will drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park, where you`ll have the opportunity to see beautiful views and abundant rain forest vegetation.  On the way we will stop for breakfast at a typical Costa Rican Restaurant. After breakfast the trip will continue to Caño Blanco, passing banana plantations on the way.

At La Pavona, a covered boat will be waiting to take you to hotel Ilan-Ilan Lodge, passing the Tortuguero canals, and arriving between 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.  At the lodge, the staff will be waiting for you with a refreshing cocktail, your rooms will be assigned and the guide will explain the afternoon activities. Included in the activities after lunch is a visit to the private preserve of the hotel and to the colorful Tortuguero town.


You will return to the lodge around 5:30 p.m. and have free time to enjoy the pool, the bar service and prepare for dinner. Dinner is served at Hotel`s restaurant from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the rest of the night will be at your leisure to enjoy the surroundings, pool and bar.

Sunset Sailing on Manuel Antonio Bay
Cuadro de texto: DAY 3 - SAN JOSE CITY ( B, L ) After breakfast, the trip back to San Jose will begin around 9:00 a.m. The boat arrives at Caño Blanco around 11:00 a.m. Then our bus will be waiting for the drive back to San Jose. There is a stop en route for lunch at a typical Costa Rican restaurant. You will arrive back at the Best Western Downtown San Jose around 4:30 p.m. with the rest of day at your leisure to relax and enjoy the Hotel facilities. Dinner is on your own. DAY 4 - LA PAZ WATERFALL GARDENS & ARENAL VOLCANO ( B, L, D ) After breakfast, we will drive along the Panamerican Highway. We pass the Farmers monument, the monument to Juan Santamaria ( a Costa Rican hero ), and The Mangos Trees Park, all of which are located in the City of Alajuela. On the way to La Paz Gardens, we’ll drive by Coffee plantations, and an explanation about this Costa Rican golden grain is provided. At the park, there is a guided walk to the many attractions available on the property, including stunning natural trails, 5 breathtaking waterfalls, a large butterfly farm, a hummingbird garden, a frog and snake garden, and more. This tour will end with a delicious lunch in the restaurant of the complex. Later you will be transported to the beautiful town of La Fortuna, where the impressive and active Arenal Volcano is located. You will check-in at Arenal Paraiso Resort. This Hotel also offers awesome views of the Volcano, acres of tropical gardens, and a fully equipped massage parlor and a spa. A Buffet dinner served at Hotel`s Restaurant is included in the package.

DAY 5 - ARENAL VOLCANO ( B, D ) After breakfast, you join an exciting two and a half hour horseback riding tour along the slopes of the Arenal volcano, and afterward you will have the rest of day at your leisure to enjoy the warm and relaxing waters of the Hot Springs Complex. Or during this time you may make use of the other amenities of the hotel. A Buffet dinner served in the Hotel`s restaurant is included this evening. However, lunch is on your own.

 


DAY 6 - MONTEVERDE ( B ) After breakfast, you will be transported by van to Lake Arenal, the largest artificial lake in Central America.  Crossing the lake by boat you will enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Arenal Volcano. After this three hour tour the van will take you back to the center of Monteverde.  You will stay at the popular El Viandante Hotel, known for its excellent service. For an additional fee, you can upgrade to a more luxurious hotel.

 

In the afternoon a guided hike in the Monteverde cloud forest is planned plus a ride on the Monteverde Aerial Tram where you can view exotic birds like the Quetzal, the Umbrella bird, and other lush flora and fauna.

Many restaurants are located within walking distance of the hotel for lunch and dinner which are on your own.

Arenal Volcano

DAY 7 - MANUEL ANTONIO BEACH ( B, D ) After breakfast, you will be taken by shuttle bus to the famous Manuel Antonio beach, a popular gay destination.  Upon arrival you will check in at the Hotel California or the Hotel Villa Roca.

 

In the afternoon, an exciting canopy tour is on the agenda.  For two hours you will travel through the trees viewing three types of monkeys, both two and three finger sloths, toucans, scarlet macaws and many other exotic species. Titi Canopy Tour operates one of the best Canopy Tours in Costa Rica also offering spectacular views of the mountains and the valley of Quepos. There are 16 platforms on the tour with wires up to 450 meters long.  The tour ends with a delicious dinner at the restaurant in the resort.

 

The more adventurous can choose a Night Canopy option, a unique experience under the black veil of night and magical sounds of the jungle.

 

In the evening you will have free time to enjoy the active gay nightlife of the Manual Antonio beach area.

 

DAY 8 - MANUEL ANTONIO BEACH ( B, L ) After breakfast, you will have an opportunity to join a rafting tour on the rapids class II, III and IV of the Naranjo or Savegre River. Tons of fun and high adrenaline are guaranteed. This tour includes natural drinks, snacks, and a delicious Costa Rican lunch. After this tour, you will have free time at your leisure for rest and relaxation. In the evening, dinner is on your own in one of the many restaurants in town.

Cuadro de texto: DAY 9 - MANUEL ANTONIO BEACH ( B, D ) At 7:30 a.m., after Breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. You will be taken through nature trails to the native tropical flora, fauna and wildlife, including monkeys, sloths and many species of birds within the impressive rainforest. Afterwards, you will have leisure time to take a swim in the pristine waters, or tan in the sun on the White Sand Beaches of the Park.  At 1:30 p.m., after a lunch on your own, you will have fun on a Dolphin and Whale Watching Tour in Manuel Antonio Bay.  You may also do some snorkeling on the reefs, and treat yourself to another gorgeous sunset in Manuel Antonio Bay. In the evening you will have leisure time to enjoy the hotel facilities, and/or have a night out on the town. Dinner is on your own. DAY 10 ( B ) After Breakfast, you will be transported by a shuttle bus to the San Jose or Liberia International Airport for your Return Flight.
