Honeymooners on the grounds of Las Aguas

The most perfect honeymoon or commitment ceremony you can imagine is waiting for you in the  luxurious gay owned resort Las Aguas located in a tropical forest of Costa Rica near the South Pacific coast. It is a gay place to stay with waterfalls and toucans. The amazing 60 foot high adjacent waterfalls will have you feeling like you just stepped into Eden. You can also enjoy some of the other tropical rivers, cascades and swimming holes that are part of this natural paradise on earth.

Las Aguas Jungle Lodge offers deluxe accommodations, a café, bar, nightly movies and Wi-Fi. The lodge has a large veranda and observation balcony with stunning views of the surrounding emerald green valley. A range of accommodations are available, from spacious suites to comfortable studio rooms.

On your arrival you will find a complimentary bottle of wine and a tropical flower arrangement in your room. A romantic dinner for two at the Las Aguas restaurant is included as well as a daily breakfast for two. We have also included a massage for two in a nearby spa. It is all awaiting your pleasure.

On the grounds of Las Aguas Lodge, clothing is optional in the natural pools, waterfalls, and in the hot tub - but not in the big pool area. Water and energy saving efforts are of paramount importance and the lodge owners encourage guests to respect their "green" conservation policies.  Environmentally damaging materials, such as hunting, styrofoam, and other non recyclable packaging, are prohibited.

The grounds of the Lodge include miles of hiking trails through the jungle forest, a tranquil jungle grotto, and a cool rushing stream where you can swim. You can play in the five waterfalls on the grounds, enjoy the regular pool or just relax with a drink. A large hot tub is a perfect place to spend the cool mountain evenings. The well-equipped fitness center - open 24 hours a day, a cinema/media room with nightly movie, and a library with Wi-Fi Internet access are all located in the main lodge. Locally grown and roasted coffees are provided all day in the Espresso Bar.

From your comfortable accommodations at Las Aguas you can spend your days participating in some of the nearby activities we can arrange for you. Waterfall adventures, horseback tours, canopy zip lines tour, ocean kayaking / snorkeling, and white water rafting are just a few of the available choices. San Isidro is a clean, safe town with manageable traffic, full services, and shopping. The market place and bus station have the authentic feel of Central America while the new mall south of town is a bit of US influence.

Start your day every morning with a full breakfast at the lodge, then take your horseback guided tour through the tropical forest to the Nauyaca twin waterfalls that is included in your honeymoon package. An ocean view vista stop and lunch are also provided. Nearby is also the Diamante Falls, which are among the tallest in Costa Rica and can be reached by self-guided or guided hikes to their base in the valley near San Cristobal. The cliff side can be climbed and rapelled by a series of ropes in a guided adventure sponsored by the owners of the property near the base of the falls.

Forty minutes from the lodge you can rent surf boards and even take surfing lessons. From September to April, you can enjoy humpback whale watching. One day can be spent white water rafting on the Guabo river (available seasonally). Or tubing on the Baru River that is a more relaxing way to spend a day on the river.

Another easy drive is Marino Ballena Marine Park, which offers snorkeling tours from shore or from small boat excursions. This is a real treat as the coastal reefs in this area are teeming with tropical fish. Note: One ocean kayaking tour for two at Ballena Marine Park is included in the price of our package.

There is no doubt that Costa Rica has some of the most breathtaking beaches on earth. Just a few kilometers from the lodge, south of the surfer's town of Dominical, is a deserted black sand beach that is a perfect place to relax or watch breathtakingly beautiful Pacific sunsets. You will need to bring food and water, as there are very limited options once you are on the beach.  Another nearby attraction is at Pos Azul - a secluded and beautiful falls with a deep pool for swimming and a rope swing in a tree where you can practice your Tarzan swing. There are a number of shoreline caves to explore by and a ocean kayak tour of the beaches.

The Albergue and Biological Center in the town of Quebradas is 8 kilometers from San Isidro, this private nature park has a butterfly farm, coffee farm tour, horseback riding and four hiking trails with great bird watching opportunities. On the road to Quepos, 3 kms north of Dominical is the Hacienda Baru Nature Reserve, a pristine nature park of 330 hectares of forest along the beach.  An adrenalin loaded experience is yours in tree canopy zip line tours conducted under the highest safety standards. A new serpentarium, called Reptilandia is also on the road to Dominical.

Bird watching opportunities abound all over southern Costa Rica where exotic tropical birds abound. Cusingas call in the morning and toucans frequent Las Aguas Lodge late in the afternoon. The scarlet macaw (parrot) has made a dramatic comeback in the Southern Zone. Guests can also consider birding in the cloud forest here, which contains many species of birds.
