DAY 1 - Welcome to Costa Rica You will be met by a representative of our company upon your arrival in San Jose International Airport as you step off the plane. And you will be transported by van to the Hotel and Casino Best Western Irazu in downtown San Jose. Accommodations here are provided in two Premier rooms with 2 double size beds, bathroom with hot water and tub, A/C, Cable TV, coffee maker, alarm clock radio, Iron with Ironing table, phone, safety box, and free wi-fi internet access. The hotel also offers a Bar, Denny´s restaurant, international cuisine restaurant, Casino, a big pool, gym, and a small Spa.
After check-in, you will have the rest of day at your leisure to enjoy of the Hotel’s pool and other amenities.
Dinner for this evening is on your own in the Hotel restaurants or any of the many restaurants located a short walking distance from the hotel.

DAY 2 – SAN JOSE CITY (B, L, D) After breakfast, you will join a guided tour to the beautiful museums and historical sites of San Jose City. This tour begins with an orientation and drive through the beautiful Sabana Park. Next, we will make a visit to the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterward we will visit one of the unique museums in the city.
Views of NATIONAL THEATHER AND CULTURE SQUARE IN SAN JOSE CITY
We will continue to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various other sites of interest. We will make a stop in an art and craft store allowing you time to browse and buy some souvenirs. We also have included a nice Costa Rican-style lunch in a good restaurant in the city (This is a 5 hour tour. Pick Up time at the hotel: 8:30 am)
Back in the hotel, you´ll have the rest of the day at your leisure.
Views of RAM LUNA RESTAURANT
In the evening, you will have dinner at the RAM LUNA restaurant, which is located on a mountain overlooking the city of San Jose and the rest of the San Jose Valley. Here you´ll enjoy spectacular views of the city at night, a Costa Rican folkdance floor show, a 3 hour open Bar and buffet dinner. This evening ends with a fireworks show under the peaceful San Jose Sky.
What to bring for tours: comfortable clothing and shoes, camera, and a light jacket or sweater.
DAY 3 – COLINAS DEL POAS (B, L) After breakfast, you´ll join an exciting “zip line” tour at Colinas del Poas Adventure Park, where you will travel through the trees for two hours, viewing the exotic flora and fauna of the Cloud Forest, including several types of birds, two finger sloths, many other exotic species and spectacular views of the mountains and the valley of Alajuela. There are 24 platforms on this tour with wires up to 600 meters long as well as 12 natural trails through the forest. The park also offers a beautiful lagoon where you can kayak and catch a trout and then cook it in the resort's restaurant. There are also hanging bridges, and acres of lush gardens and natural trails to enjoy.

The tour ends with a delicious Costa Rican style lunch at the restaurant in the resort. (Pick Up time at Best Western Irazu: 9:50 am - Return time: 4:30 pm)
Back in the hotel, you´ll have the rest of the day at your leisure to relax and make use of the hotel amenities. The dinner for this day is on your own.
Note: The hotel has an open bar for all guests in the lounge," La Cantina" from 5 pm to 6pm. During this time, all of the natural beverages one can drink and house liquors are free of charge.

Day 4 - Visit to tortuguero canals (B, L, D) After Breakfast, you will travel with a bilingual naturalist guide on an air conditioned bus and will drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park, where you`ll have the opportunity to see beautiful views and abundant rain forest vegetation. On the way we will stop for breakfast at a typical Costa Rican Restaurant. After breakfast the trip will continue to Caño Blanco, passing banana plantations on the way.
Views of Canals of tortuguero
At La Pavona, a covered boat will be waiting to take you to the Ilan-Ilan Lodge, passing the Tortuguero canals, and arriving between 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. At the lodge, the staff will be waiting for you with a refreshing cocktail, your rooms will be assigned and the guide will explain the afternoon’s activities. Included in the activities after lunch is a visit to the private preserve of the hotel and to the colorful town of Tortuguero.
You will return to the lodge around 5:30 p.m. and have free time to enjoy the pool, the bar service and prepare for dinner. Dinner is served in the restaurant at the lodge from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and it is included in the package. The rest of the night will be at your leisure to enjoy the surroundings, pool and bar.
DAY 5 - SAN JOSE CITY (B, L) After breakfast, the trip back to San Jose will begin around 9:00 a.m. The boat arrives at La Pavona around 11:00 a.m. And our bus will be waiting for the drive back to San Jose. There is a stop for lunch at a typical Costa Rican restaurant. You will arrive back at the Best Western Irazu around 4:45 p.m. with the rest of day at your leisure to relax and enjoy the Hotel facilities. Dinner is on your own.
DAY 6 – MANUEL ANTONIO BEACH (B, L) At 6 am, you will be transported by deluxe van to the world famous Manuel Antonio beach on the Costa Rican Central Pacific coast (This is a 3 and half hour ride – each way). On the way we will stop for breakfast at a typical Costa Rican Restaurant. After breakfast the trip will continue to Manuel Antonio beach, passing plantations of Oil Palm on the way.
Upon your arrival, you will have a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. You will be taken on nature trails to see the tropical flora, fauna and wildlife, including monkeys, sloths and many species of birds within the impressive rainforest. Afterwards, you will have leisure time to take a swim in the pristine waters, or tan in the sun on the white sand beaches of the park. This tour ends with a delicious lunch in a nice restaurant in town.
Views of MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK
Back in San Jose city, you´ll have the rest of the day at your leisure for relaxing and making use of the hotel amenities. The dinner this evening is on your own.
What to bring for tour: comfortable clothing, tennis shoes or sandals, bathing suit, towel, sun lotion, sun glasses, binoculars and camera.
DAY 7 – VISIT TO ARENAL VOLCANO AND TABACON HOT SPRINGS (B, L, D) After breakfast, you´ll join a guided tour of the impressive active Arenal Volcano which is located in the town of La Fortuna in northern Costa Rica.
On the way to La Fortuna, we´ll stop in the famous town of Sarchi known as the birthplace of Costa Rica’s Artisans. In Sarchi, you can see many of the crafts that Costa Rican artisans have to offer, and have the opportunity to see the world's largest ox cart.
The journey will then continue, through diverse plantations with agricultural products, including pineapple farms, mango groves, ornamental plants and cattle ranches, arriving at the small town of La Fortuna where you will enjoy lunch at a cozy restaurant with a magnificent view of the volcano.
Views of ARENAL VOLCANO AND TABACON HOT SPRINGS
Then you can relax at one of the best hot springs in the area and revel in the cleansing and rejuvenating effects of the thermal waters. An optional massage or other special treatment is also available, if you choose, but must be reserved ahead of time to ensure availability.
Tabacon Hot Springs combines the four elements of nature; the heat of the volcano, the flowing waters of the hot springs, the pure air of the rainforest, and the fertile earth of the Fortuna de San Carlos region, providing visitors with a first rate relaxation experience.
And for a perfect ending, before going back to San Jose, you will enjoy a wonderful dinner with a fantastic view of the volcano. (Pick Up time at Best Western Irazu: 8:45 am - Return time: 10:30 pm)

DAY 8 – visit TO poas volcano, doka estate and la paz gardens (b, l) At 7:20 am, you will join a guided tour to Poas Volcano. On the route to Poas Volcano, we will visit Doka Estate for a nice breakfast and a guided tour of the property. Doka is world renowned as one of the best coffee plantations in Costa Rica. Here you will learn about the ancient farming techniques to produce one of the best Gourmet coffees in the world. You will see the complete process involved in the cultivation, harvest and roasting of Costa Rica´s Golden Bean.
After Doka, we will continue to Poas Volcano where you will not only admire the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, but you also learn about the exuberant flora and fauna that inhabit this beautiful national park.
Views of LA PAZ GARDENS AND POAS VOLCANO
Later we`ll visit La Paz Waterfall Gardens. A guided walk is provided to the many attractions available on the property, including 5 breathtaking waterfalls, a large butterfly farm, a hummingbird garden, a frog and snake garden, the big felines farm, and more.
This tour ends with a buffet lunch in the restaurant within the complex.
Back in San Jose city, you´ll have the rest of the day at your leisure. Dinner for this evening is on your own.

DAY 9 - RETURN HOME After breakfast, you´ll be transported by Van to the San Jose International Airport for your Return flight.
